Banking on Tech City
Banking on Tech City – Are banks delivering the services high growth companies and SMEs need to thrive?
Tech City is the golden child of the British economy. East London’s hub of digital enterprises is feted as being the driving force for UK growth and innovation by senior politicians. In November 2010, David Cameron promised Tech City specialist banking services to help them compete on a global basis. We wanted to find out whether banks are delivering on this promise.
Comarch gained access to over fifty Tech City companies to ask them about their banking services. Are banks delivering on credit? Are there specialist services designed to support smaller enterprises? Do Tech City companies want these services? And, if they are not getting them, would they be willing to go as far as switching to a bank who does offer them?
The findings are of critical importance, not just for Tech City, but for the wider SME community. If banks aren’t delivering for Tech City, constantly in the spotlight, then they won’t be delivering for SMEs.
The report covers the following:
- How satisfied high-grown companies are with their banks
- Which services they would like and which they would pay for
- How easy they find getting credit
- What these companies really think about the services they receive
